 Jessia English, M.S.Ed.

Experience

Jessia has robust experience working with exceptional students, parents, teachers, IEP teams, and district administrators for 23 years. She was an ESE (Exceptional Student Education) teacher, working with students at all grade levels and program settings in four states. Jessia served as an ESE Specialist, providing site based support in all areas of Exceptional Student Education. In this role, Jessia worked collaboratively with parents, teachers, and district staff to provide support for curriculum, instruction, behavior, compliance, programing decisions to ensure the provisions of FAPE and improve outcomes for ESE students. Jessia also served as an Elementary Assistant Principal.

  • Advanced knowledge of specialized curriculum and effective instructional strategies for exceptional students
  • Advanced knowledge of effective behavioral problem solving practices, behavioral data collection for FBA (Functional Behavioral Assessment), collaborating to create PBIB (Positive Behavioral Intervention Plan), PBIP implementation
  • Extensive knowledge of compliance requirements in accordance with IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act), and state statutes
  • Extensive knowledge of the continuum of services to ensure provisions of ESE services are delivered in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE)
  • Extensive knowledge of the MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support) process and its role in ESE identification
  • Establishes collaborative relationships and seeks win-win solutions by building trust and rapport with all stakeholders
